I’m Caroline Cole. I’ve always known I’d be an artist…some kind of artist anyway. I started performing on stage at just 6 years old…then got a degree in theater performance…then…after graduation, I completely stagnated.

I tried to build a creative career from home, but I’d only been trained to work in “traditional markets.” I didn’t want to move to New York (too expensive!) or LA (the traffic!) and was searching for an alternative route to financial and creative freedom.

Seven years ago, I stumbled upon the field of voice acting. “This is it!” I thought. “A way to make money from home using my acting training.” I thought I’d hit the jackpot.

So, I found a local class, spent over $1,000 on training…then realized I didn't even have a demo to get started. After that huge investment, I hadn't perfected the skill I needed most: acing my auditions!

I had training behind the mic and decades of performance under my belt…but I'd never submitted a voice-over audition. I'd never even edited my own audio! It seemed like a huge hole in my VO training.

Everyone says that auditioning is a numbers game. But it took me over an HOUR to submit one audition...and the numbers weren't adding up.

People told me I needed to work with an audio editor. But to pay someone to help me audition? I felt in my gut this wasn't right. In my frustration, I decided to rebel. I taught myself to edit audio through countless YouTube videos.

Everyone said not to…but I ignored the so-called experts and did it my way. And now, I can submit 5-10 auditions in an hour. My numbers are up, along with my booking rates.
